Saturday!

Sorry for the delay. We are all doing well. Still hot!!  On Thursday we had 256 kids on our 4th day of VBS at the downtown church. It was wild and crazy.  We had to run the bus twice to get the 97 Llama class to the game circle. We also had many many parents and toddlers who stayed around all day. We finished VBS and went immediately into parents night. We had to put the youngest class the Ositos on the bus and use it as a classroom. It was even more wild and crazy. We sent seven of our team to El Progresso for the teen rally so we were a bit short of help. Thankfully both cooks were with us as we had checked out of our hostel. We put them right to work. Out of the hot kitchen and into the hot VBS!

The kids were sweet and happy wearing their medals to sing for their parents.  We had two small floodlights for light. There were the ever present storm clouds....but God be praised no rain. Before leaving the hostel that day the guys loaded all our suitcases on top of the church bus. What a hot job. Andrew just lifts a 50 pound suitcases with one hand!  They hired a bodyguard to watch our luggage on the bus while we had VBS. After VBS we cleaned up said our goodbyes and drove to el progreso we here the guys now had to unload all those suitcases and we each found our cute little bungalow. Very picturesque.

We were up the next morning to do recruiting in two neighborhoods for the teen conference. Pastor DJ had preached Thursday night while we were doing the parents night. E did a great job and Pastor Matt is a phenomenal translator going at almost the same time as Pastor DJ so it is easy to follow both the English and the Spanish. The kids loved the games and glow in the dark night was a huge success.

Our cooks are working hard to keep us fed and hydrated. Bless their hearts. We are being well taken care of in that respect.

Today we helped run the bible club they do in a park each Saturday and that was really cool. They kids were so well, behaved. We ran two sets of games. Michelle and Susie gave the gospel using the wordless book and evangecube. We sang songs that were new  to them and the kids did so well singing them. We finished up with crafts and go home bags. There were many kids that said thank you thank you.

Of course our teens loved the ride back to the church in the back of the pick up trucks!

We visited the Hope of Honduras home. We went back again Friday afternoon with all the backpacks and gifts that our church and Gingers church had sent. It was a true Christmas in July for them. Each child opened their backpack to find shoes and school supplies and some toys. They were especially happy with the two slip and slides and sprinkler balls. I saw them playing with them today. We will have pizza with the kids tomorrow and hear more of their stories. We will have to share with you about the miracle of fat little baby Will. The Coats family that oversees the home are amazing.

Well I hope to get some pictures up soon. Today is Austen's birthday and we had a fun party with decorations cake and a present. Gotta get ready for the teen rally tonight. Internet is very spotty. I'm sitting in the hotel lobby to send this now.

Thanks for your continued prayers Especially now that we are not quite done and really tired. Out sick people me included are seeing a bit of improvement. We are looking forward to a fun free day on
Monday.

Gotta run.
Denise
