Hit the Ground Running

Well, everyone at First Baptist Church knows the summer we have had already. It begins with "busy" and ends with "busy." But busy is a good thing. After 8 days of Vacation Bible School in Land O Lakes, my family and I attending my brother's wedding in Wisconsin and then turned right around to Honduras for the mission trip. Getting up at 2:30 am is quite interesting as you maneuver your way to the airport for an 8 hour flight to San Predro Sula, Honduras. After 15 cups of coffee and a bag of sour gummy worms, I unboarded the wonderful air conditioned plane to a beautiful country roasting at 90 degrees plus with zero AC. My sweat glands got more of a work out than my muscles from walking everywhere. But when I arrived, it was refreshing to see our team preparing for that night's VBS and the 185 kids that arrived for the program. Even the parents were excited about VBS. All those months of VBS preparations are paying off as the program is well received by the Hondurans. But above all, seeing the national believers excited about seeing all these kids and families accept Christ and the opportunity for discipleship in the future is rewarding itself. Praise the Lord for his safety, grace, strength, and friends who are desiring to see countless souls saved for the Kingdom of God.

P.S. I also praise the Lord for air conditioning... Daily.
