Stretching One's Comfort Zone
This is my first time on a VBS mission trip and the Lord has truly been stretching my comfort zone. I was extremely nervous about teaching since I haven't taught the Wordless book and was concerned about presenting with an interpreter. The first day was a bit rough for me but the interpreter and I did well together. It is difficult with not knowing the language, when as a teacher I make it a point to know my children's name by the end of the first day. But here I can't seem to get names or recognize anyone. The Lord has been helping me each day and it has been good. We just completed day 1 of our second VBS in the down town church. We help set up the stage and seating for VBS outside and we were tired as we headed back to our hostel for lunch. Later that afternoon we returned to start VBS and it was hard for me to visualize how it would all come together. The Lord is amazing and the children were attentive and sweet. We had some technical difficulties but it didn't stop us from having a great time and getting the gospel to the children. To me it all went smoothly and I truly enjoyed the day. It has been wonderful getting to know the team on a different level. We have had fun laughing even when we are so loopy from being tired. I'm glad I came on this trip. A quick hi and I love you to my family back home, see you next Tuesday, I miss you a lot.
